It has been more than three years since I started this blog. I stopped writing blog posts as I became more disillusioned with both the duplicitous Republican/Tea Party/Fox News state of political discourse and the increasingly accommodationist Obabma administration. And so many others were more prolific and consistent in explicating these matters.
Well, it is time to get off the sidelines again. The Republican control of both houses of Congress has forced my hand. The miasma of lies and deceit that emerge from the Rs as they move to satisfy their masters on Wall Street and the Koch brothers and their ilk cannot go unchallenged during the next two years. The positive efforts of the Obama administration and the minority Democrats in Congress must be highlighted.
So, Coliseum Street is open for business. I will take on national and locals issues (Louisiana has itself entered a darker age with Bunco Bill Cassidy and Diaper Dave Vitter as our senators and Baby Bobby Jindal as our lame-duck governor). Let's try to keep the lamps burning through the Republican Interregnum and hope that 2016 will see them scatter before the forces of reason and rationality.
