Repubs in Congress are pushing the XL Keystone Pipeline as a "boost for our energy." No, that is not what it is. XL is a pet project of the Koch brothers (and other oil dealers) that will create only c.1500 temporary jobs when being built. And the oil is going to Texas in order to be shipped overseas. No energy boost, no good jobs, and a large profit to the oil folks. Sure looks like Mitch and John are doing their jobs. Just not for the rest of us.

See what I mean. See how many lies Baby Bobby can spew in one speech. If the U.S. needs a "spiritual revival," whatever that means, it will not be led by an ignorant hypocrite like him. Or so I hope. Remember, he is the guy who will not expand Medicaid in LA in order not to give poor folks a false sense of entitlement. That's as opposed to tax cuts that serve the 1%, because they are the "good people."
So it goes.

Coliseum Street Returns To The Fight
It has been more than three years since I started this blog. I stopped writing blog posts as I became more disillusioned with both the duplicitous Republican/Tea Party/Fox News state of political discourse and the increasingly accommodationist Obabma administration. And so many others were more prolific and consistent in explicating these matters.
Well, it is time to get off the sidelines again. The Republican control of both houses of Congress has forced my hand. The miasma of lies and deceit that emerge from the Rs as they move to satisfy their masters on Wall Street and the Koch brothers and their ilk cannot go unchallenged during the next two years. The positive efforts of the Obama administration and the minority Democrats in Congress must be highlighted.
So, Coliseum Street is open for business. I will take on national and locals issues (Louisiana has itself entered a darker age with Bunco Bill Cassidy and Diaper Dave Vitter as our senators and Baby Bobby Jindal as our lame-duck governor). Let's try to keep the lamps burning through the Republican Interregnum and hope that 2016 will see them scatter before the forces of reason and rationality.
